This week our academic scholars participated in "The Great Dewey Hunt" and Boo Bash, where they enjoyed spook-tacular treats. The library staff and teachers presented each scholar with a certificate of recognition and goodie bag.

If you were unable to join us last night for the LHS Talent Show, you missed a star-studded event featuring our most talented students - Tulanni Blair and Char Starnes (vocals); Kionna Cambell (vocals); Carrigan Banks (spoken word original poem: 2nd place); AJ Warren (vocals); Olyvia Snypes and DJ Guy (performing arts - dancing: 3rd place); Keele Proctor (vocals); Daniel Major (instrumentalist); Aaliyah Cebanu (vocals: 1st place) and hosted by Choral Director Troy Dunbar. Dunbar's very talented choral ensemble performed a choreographed dance to Michael Jackson's "Thriller," and second-year choral student Sonivette Morales-Mercado ended the event with a powerful vocal performance.

Lancaster High is hosting a family-friendly community FALL FESTIVAL EVENT! For more information about the event (booths, activities, food, and entry fee), please check out the attached flyer.

We had an amazing day in the #theTRUEBruinsDen - from a wonderful fiction versus nonfiction lesson to our staff versus scholars trivia contest - it was a truly a beautiful day in the library! Our scholars rocked the trivia today - 2nd and 3rd lunch scholars beat the staff in good fashion! Until next time...

Come out and be THRILLED by all of the talented Bruins! The LHS Choral Department Presents its annual Talent Show on October 28th at 6PM in the Auditorium. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased on the school website using the OSP payment fee system or in person with Mrs. Kennington the bookkeeper. Ticket sales end on October 27th. There will be no ticket sales at the door!

Our academic scholars are at it again! This time they mastered the art of dissecting a book and comparing parts of the body to book parts (similes). These enthusiastic scholars enjoyed story time (Dem Bones), checked out books, played Operation, and created their own stories.

As a culminating activity to our Hispanic Heritage week events, Mr. Dunbar, Ms. Leonard, and Mrs. Ovalles sponsored a Latin dance seminar.

Attention Students - Our new WonderBooks have arrived and will be ready for checkout next week! We have an assortment of genres and topics, including but not limited to social justice, sports, memoirs, historical fiction, fantasy, and realistic fiction. These books are perfect for scholars who like to read and listen to books simultaneously.

Let's Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! LHS will host Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week next week, October 14 - October 17. ¡Celebremos el Mes de la Herencia Hispana! LHS celebrará la Semana del Espíritu de la Herencia Hispana la próxima semana, del 14 al 17 de octubre.

Attention Parents, Community Members, Staff, and Scholars - Please join us this afternoon, Monday, October 6, at 5:30, for our VIRTUAL SIC Meeting! At 5:20pm, we will post the MEET link on both our Facebook page and the LHS website's Live Feed section.

Our academic scholars participated in an interactive lesson on how to take care of library books. These scholars checked out some high-interest books and designed personal bookmarks to hold their places in their books. Before leaving the library, we danced to Snoop Dogg's Reading Song!

Academic pride and reading are powerful motivators; they provide a journey of learning and personal growth.
