VIRTUAL SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT COUNCIL MEETING
The LHS admin team would like to invite staff, students, and parents to join them for our virtual SIC meeting on Monday, January 25, at 6pm. We will share the ZOOM link here by 5pm on Monday afternoon.
*To view schedules for A/B/C/D students, it is best to use the student's PowerSchool login credentials. If you need assistance with this, please contact a school counselor.
A-Day students will be face to face on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please bring your first semester books to return.
B-Day students will be face to face on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please bring your first semester books to return.
C-Day students will log in on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please log in at the BEGINNING of each block. You will return your first semester textbooks on Friday, January 29, from 9am-3pm, in the LHS bus loop.
D-Day students will log in on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please log in at the BEGINNING of each block. You will return your first semester textbooks on Friday, January 29, from 9am-3pm, in the LHS bus loop.
Teachers will be available to assist students virtually on Fridays.
E-Day/VirtualSC students will continue to check their VirtualSC accounts for their schedules.
Second Semester Info
*A/C students begin classes on Monday, January 25.
*B/D students begin class on Wednesday, January 27.
*A/B students should return their textbooks to Mr. Pringle in the bookroom between January 25 and January 28. HE WILL COLLECT AND QUARANTINE TEXTBOOKS during this time. PLEASE DROP OFF YOUR TEXTBOOKS BEFORE SCHOOL OR BETWEEN CLASSES.
*Lunches will still be distributed on Fridays (11am-1pm). Please pull into the bus loop. Students must be present in the vehicles.

Scholarship Opportunity - Seniors
The Byrnes Scholarship is available to students who have lost one or both parents and who plan to seek a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university. We would appreciate your sharing the scholarship information with deserving students who meet the eligibility requirements as stated in the attached documents.
This year our entire application packet is web-based. Applicants are now able to start and complete the process on line. Everything is to be uploaded to the site. Applicants can access the application from any device, stop and come back to the application to complete it at any time.
Applications are available via our website home page at www.byrnesscholars.org. The due date is February 01, 2021
Please inform students of the SAT/ACT requirement. Applications without one of these scores will not be able to submit their application.
Attention Seniors - It's Time to Order Graduation Regalia
Seniors, please click this link to view the step-by-step instructions for ordering your graduation regalia. Please be sure to read and follow the instructions. The deadline to order is Jan. 31, 2021. Remember...if you are planning to march at the graduation ceremony, you must purchase the Cap/Gown/Tassel/Hood/Diploma Cover option which is $68.95. Once shipping & handling, as well as sales tax, is applied to the total, you will need to pay a minimum payment of $80 at the time of purchase.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT - ENGAGE SC
The SC State Department of Education has partnered with Graduation Alliance to provide additional academic support to students and their families who may be struggling during this time of alternative instructional settings. The program is called ENGAGE SC and there is no cost.
The eligibility criteria for referral are students who are in grades K-12 and who:
did not engage in their school’s in-person or remote education offerings in Spring or Fall 2020; or
are chronically absent; or
are in danger of failing one or more classes; or
are McKinney Vento eligible or are in foster care; or
students whose families have requested additional support.
These criteria apply to both students participating in remote and in-person education offerings.
The academic coaching will be done virtually. The coaches will spend as much time with the students as needed. The academic coaching can begin as early as next week or within the next two weeks.

How to Update a Chromebook
- Click the bottom right corner of the Chrome OS desktop.
- Select the Settings icon.
- Click About Chrome.
- Click Check for updates.
- To apply the update, click the arrow icon and select Restart to Update.
- Open a new browser.
- In the upper right hand corner select the three vertical dots.
- Click HELP.
- Click about OS.
How to Remove a User Profile
- Logout of the Chromebook.
- Click the on the profile you want to remove.
- Click the down arrow next to the profile name.
- Click Remove this user.
- Click Remove this user again.
