CHROMEBOOK INFORMATION

CHROMEBOOK OFFICE HOURS AND PROCEDURES

  • Students are welcome to come to the library between 8:15am and 8:35am (without a pass).

  • Students are welcome to come to the library during their assigned lunch period (without a pass).

  • If you come during instructional time, please bring a teacher-issued pass. 1 student = 1 pass

  • Please sign in when you come to the library during "class" time.

  • The sign-in computer is located at our circulation desk.

MISPLACED CHROMEBOOKS

  • If you misplace your Chromebook while on campus, please check with the front office staff to see if someone turned in your device.

  • If no one turned in your device to the front office staff, please stop by the library and speak with a library staff member.

STOLEN CHROMEBOOKS

If you believe that another student has taken your Chromebook, immediately file a report with your assigned administrator. He/She will contact us with a Chromebook contingency plan.

LOANER POLICIES

We are unable to issue loaner Chromebooks. We will exchange a loaner Chromebook for a student’s broken/damaged Chromebook.  Each student’s account will be checked to see if he/she purchased insurance. Students will be invoiced for damages. 

  • If you forget your Chromebook, you will use the desktop in your teacher’s classroom.

  • If you have a broken Chromebook/loaner, please check your school Gmail for pick-up information. 

We are unable to issue loaner chargers. If you need a replacement charger, you will pay bookkeeper Gracyn Kennington the $45 replacement charger fee.  Please bring your receipt to the library, and a member of our team will provide you with your newly purchased charger.

CHROMEBOOK INSURANCE & OTHER PAYMENT INFORMATION

*Chromebook Insurance = $30 (good for one school calendar year).

*Chromebook insurance does not cover lost chargers. 

*Chromebook insurance ONLY COVERS one (1) accidental repair/issue.

*Parents, the deadline for purchasing Chromebook insurance was September 30, 2024.

*Bookkeeper Gracyn Kennington will take Chromebook insurance, invoice, and charger replacement payments.

*ALWAYS keep your receipts or take a clear picture of your full receipt with your phone.

CHROMEBOOK TROUBLE

If you have Chromebook issues, try removing your user profile from the device.

  1. Log out of the Chromebook.

  2. Click on the profile you want to remove.

  3. Click the down arrow next to the profile name.

  4. Click Remove this user.

  5. Click Remove this user again.

  6. Log back into your Chromebook.

How to update your OS on your Chromebook

  1. Click the bottom right corner of the Chrome OS desktop.

  2. Select the Settings icon.

  3. Click About Chrome.

  4. Click Check for updates.

  5. To apply the update, click the arrow icon and select Restart to Update
